Happy 15th Birthday to Yahoo!

World leading web portal Yahoo! celebrating its 15th birthday! Over 600 million people around the world are using Yahoo! Website. The web site was launched in March 1, 1994. If you logon to yahoo.com, you will see that its logo has changed to “Happy 15th Birthday Yahoo!”

The Yahoo! site was created by Stanford graduate students Jerry Yang and David Filo, initially they made this as a directory of web sites originally called “Jerry and David’s Guide to the World Wide Web,” and renamed “Yahoo” in 1994.

Jerry Yang and David Filo said in the Yahoo! blog, after many late nights and a lot of pizza, we decided to take the big leap, turn our hobby into a business, raise money and devote ourselves totally to building a company. This was no sure thing. For example, 15 years ago, we wanted a free service that was ad-supported. But the conventional wisdom was that our business needed to be subscription-based. Few people thought that advertising could be the key revenue generator for the Internet. Of course, the conventional wisdom was wrong and so today we know that August, 1995, the month our first ad went live, was a critical milestone in the history of Yahoo!, as well as the history of the internet.

Vinnaithandi Varuvaya in Sri Lanka

The long awaited movie of Gautam Menon’s “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya”, a musical romance movie by AR Rahman, starring Trisha and Simbu in the lead roles, now showing in Sri Lankan big screens.

The title “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya” is straight out of the first words of the Prabu deva and Kajol starrer “Minsaara Kanavu” hit Movie. The film has a tag line of “A different love story. AGAIN”.

VTV Music is already on top of all the charts and this will be A R Rahman’s first Tamil release after his winning double Oscars and double Grammys.

This soft romance is a typical Goutham Menon film and you can expect all the color and dignity of his earlier urban romance ‘Minnale’. Silambarasan and Trisha are also expecting this film to give a major boost to their image and career.

VTV Movie info:

Being twenty-something is truly something else! Every moment experience a new feeling, fresh thoughts, the zest for life, love, ambition and a lot more...!

Karthik & Jessie meet each other, one unassuming evening... And it`s love at first sight, for Karthik. Not having seen a beauty such as Jessie in years passed by. Karthik is love struck, dumbstruck, and spellbound... all at once. Jessie is the girl next door, in the typical sense. Secretive glances make way to obvious glances and the two get acquainted sooner or later. What begins with an unexpected friendship breaks boundaries to take shape as love. Unable to hold emotions, Karthik doesn’t allow his feelings to rest for too long when he proposes to Jessie one abrupt morning that leaves her in a state of perplex. Silence from both the ends... Followed by regretful thoughts... And decisions to be made... As Love chooses its own route, familiarly makes way for a healthy yet simple relationship between Karthik and Jessie. Just when life seems perfect surrounded by the indescribable feeling of love, unfathomable feeling of the heart, and the unknown pages from the future; Jessie brings out her uncertainty over the relationship leaving Karthik in a state of perplex, this time around... A story packed with emotions, surprises, travel, ambition, clandestine meetings etc; the film tours the audience through Chennau, Allepey (Kerala), Malta, Goa and New York to reveal the different shades of screenplay in the best way possible. Simply put, the film says - Love is beautiful but it can be painful too... A different love story. Yet again.
