India’s fastest moving Satellite TV service provider Sun Direct Wednesday introduced the first ever High Definition (HD) broadcast platform in India.

HDTV is considered as one of the world’s best digital broadcast platforms with a higher resolution than traditional television system. HDTV will improve the viewer experience by about five times over a regular television.

According to Sun Direct sources HDTV services will begin with two channels, one each for Tamil movies and Telugu movies at a cost of Rs 10,000 per subscription.

Sun Direct has already crossed the 3-million active subscriber base mark in March 2009.
