Etisalat Sri Lanka Reaches 3 Million Subscribers

UAE based, Sri Lanka’s first cellular network provider Etisalat (Known as CellTel/Tigo) has recently reached 3 million customers on its mobile network.

Commenting on this new milestone, Company CEO, Dumindra Ratnayaka said. Reaching 3 million subscribers is a landmark achievement for Etisalat, and we are dedicated to increasing this number and taking this company to great heights.”

Etisalat currently has coverage in total of 1580 sites including all urban areas as well as North and East areas and also planning to set up 515 new 3G stations in many parts in the country shortly. It will provide all facilities for customers such as internet, mobile TV, high speed browsing among others, he added.

Etisalt acquired Tigo (Sri Lanka) on 16th October 2009 and changed the Operator/Brand Name TIGO to Etisalat On 25th February 2010.
